H e l e n: Hi, Lucy! You’re back. It’s nice to see you again.
L u c y: Hi, Helen! It’s good to see you. I’m happy I’m back home again after my long trip.
H e l e n: Where did you go this time?
L u c y: I travelled to England last August. My parents and I went on a wonderful trip to the south of England and stayed in Brighton for two weeks.
H e l e n: Brighton is a famous English resort, isn’t it?
L u c y: It is. Our hotel was near the sea. It took us five minutes to get to the beach.
H e l e n: How did you find the hotel?
L u c y: It was modern and very comfortable. We had a very cosy room and could see the sea from its window! The food in the restaurant was very good and the people in the hotel were friendly.
H e l e n: What about the weather?
L u c y: It was fairly good. We had some rainy days but the sea was warm and pleasant. I swam a lot.
H e l e n: I’m happy for you. I stayed in town all the summer. And the weather was terrible. It rained a lot and it was fairly cold. But I’m going to Italy in September and they say early autumn in Italy is always beautiful.
